| New Building Regulations for England/Wales and Scotland require that a Chimney Data Plate must be placed in a prominent position giving information on any chimney that is constructed or worked upon. As there are differences in the Regulations for England/Wales and those for Scotland, NACE have developed a Chimney Data Plate which satisfies both sets of requirements. NACE has also developed a national database to record the use of any Chimney Data Plates supplied to its members, each Chimney Data Plate being sequentially numbered and unique. The plate will detail: - Address of the property.
- Location of the hearth and chimney (which room).
- Type of appliance or fuel the chimney is suitable for.
- Type of chimney liner (manufacturer & model name) & diameter.
- Whether or not it can be used with an appliance that has a condensing mode.
- Date of installation.
- National Flue Registration Number (unique number).
- NACE membership number.
- Length of any guarantee issued with the lining.
- Company details.
